Come Taste The Canarian Sunshine
Within
Playa Blanca there are a number of sandy beaches.
The town beach is in the very centre of the town where as Playa
Flamingo is just a few minutes walk to the west but is a very
attractive and is a very safe beach and suitable for families.
Papagayo
consists of a dozen beautiful white sandy bays, sheltering
between rocky headlands.
Building in this area is prohibited, and the intention is to
keep the whole area as nature created it. These beaches can now
be reached by road or alternatively, they can be reached by sea
taxi - an scenic and peaceful way to get there. The sea taxis
take about half an hour and they depart regularly from the
harbour just across the road from Los Calamares.
Rubicon
Marina is beautiful new marina.
There is a newly finished coastal path stretching all the way
from Faro Park in the west to Las Coloradas in the East of Playa
Blanca.
There
is a harbour at Punta Limones
with daily ferries to Corralejo in Fuerteventura which now takes
a mere 20 minutes.
Recent additions to the town
have included the "Estacion de Guaguas"
(Bus station) which also houses a
police station and is located just a few minutes walk from our
villas making it very easy to get around the town. In early
October 2008, Playa Blanca became the first municipality on the
Island to have its own dedicated bus service, as opposed to
buses simply passing through. Price are around €1.50 per journey
and travel in a loop from Faro Park to Las Coloradas. Frequency
is every half an hour.
